On
August 20, 2003, rain fell in Pahrump, NV, and in the Chicago Valley,
south of Yucca Mt.
The water flowed south in the Chicago Valley until it hit the Old Spanish Trail, the road from Tecopa to the NV border and Las Vegas. |
The
water turned southwest, badly undercutting the road for about 5 miles,
closing it for 6 weeks and causing $70,000 worth of damage.
